'UN Convention on the Law of the Sea at 40: Achievements and Future Prospects'

The UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) was adopted in 1982 after nearly a decade of negotiations. The negotiations had an ambitious scope, and the resulting Convention is a previously unprecedented instrument that regulates maritime zones and extensive areas.
