Eid is coming soon, many of us will be traveling home. Wow, what a fun time to spend time with extended family in a Fitri atmosphere. But I definitely want to go for a walk too.
The OLIV Exploration Team chose a destination in the East Java region as their destination this time, namely Tumpak Sewu Waterfall.
Tumpak Sewu Waterfall or also called Coban Sewu is a "waterfall" with a height of around 120 meters. This waterfall borders the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall and has a similar water flow so it is included in the "Waterfall" type. The location of the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is in a steep, elongated area with an elevation of 500 meters above sea level. Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is formed in the Glidih River which originates at "Mount Semeru"
Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Java. From the center of Lumajang city, the location of this waterfall is still far away, reaching 47 km to the south. The waterfall tourist location is still close to another cool spot, namely Goa Tetes. In Javanese, tumpak can be interpreted as pile, and sewu is a thousand.
Another meaning of the name Tumpak Sewu is tumpak (rising) and sewu (thousand). So Tumpak Sewu means this waterfall looks as if it is climbing or riding on the wall or cliff of the waterfall.
So it can be concluded that the name Tumpak Sewu is the nickname for the pile of a thousand waterfalls. Even though it's not exactly a thousand, the amount of water that forms the waterfall here is very large, making it look like a giant waterfall like Niagara Falls.
The rows of waterfalls spread out like a curtain, occasionally emitting a beautiful rainbow. The location is at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level, while the height of the waterfall from top to bottom reaches 120 meters.
The shape of the Tumpak Sewu waterfall is beautiful and lined up like a curtain. Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is included in the tiered waterfall category. This beautiful waterfall is formed from the flow of the Glidik River which has its headwaters on Mount Semeru, the highest mountain in Java.
To get to the waterfall location, tourists generally use the Lumajang route because it is safer to go to the lower area. The official counter is also on the Lumajang route. The Malang Path is made of scary vertical stairs.
A cave hides behind Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, which is named Goa Bidadari. This place is generally used for spiritual activities such as meditation or meditation.
Still in the lower area, you will also find a green valley which is usually used as a photo spot by tourists. From here you can see the beauty and splendor of the waterfall from below. If you scream here, your voice will echo.
So what are you waiting for, let's meet the OLIV Exploration team at Tumpak Sewu this Eid.
