The Minister of PUPR and also the acting head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), Basuki Hadimuljono, stated that access to IKN has been provided ahead of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day (HUR RI) celebration on August 17, 2024. Access from Balikpapan to IKN can be reached in 90 minutes.
Basuki said that access to the core area of the government center (KIPP) IKN from Balikpapan can be via the Balikpapan - Samarinda Toll Road, then exit at KM 11 Keranjoang Gate. Then the journey continues via the national road, then re-enter the toll road, with a total travel time of 90 minutes over a distance of 88 KM.
The road network within KIPP with asphalt conditions along 7 KM, subsequently the road to the State Palace and Garuda Palace, which will be functional along 1260 meters, has been asphalted.
'The infrastructure program for the Presidential Palace has now reached 95%. Both are in the stage of furniture installation and will be completed on August 10.'
