The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) plummets by 9%, a look at the top gainers after the trading halt.
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) plunged 9% in trading this morning. This situation prompted the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) to temporarily halt trading and impose a Lower Auto Rejection Limit (ARB).
Under these conditions, a number of stocks were listed as top gainers. The highest share price increase was recorded at 24%, bringing several issuers from the media, manufacturing, and property sectors into the list.
According to RTI data on Tuesday (April 8, 2025), the stock with the highest increase in first place was PT Shield On Service Tbk (SOSS). SOSS's share price rose 24.73%, or 92 points, in today's trading to Rp 464 per share.
SOSS's position was followed by PT Tunas Alfin Tbk. (TALF), which also rose 11.76%, or 32 points, to Rp 304 per share today.
The third-place top gainer was PT KDB Tifa Finance Tbk. (TIFA), which rose 10.00%, or 72 points. This puts the issuer at Rp 825 per share.
In fourth place were shares of PT MDTV Media Technologies Tbk. (NETV), which rose 9.79% to Rp 157 per share. Shares of PT Indo Straits Tbk. (PTIS) also rose 9.26% to Rp 236 per share.
PT Tigaraksa Satria Tbk (TGKA) and PT Panca Anugrah Wisesa Tbk (MGLV) ranked sixth and seventh, rising 6.61% and 5.26%, respectively. TGKA was trading at Rp 6,450 per share, and MGLV at Rp 100 per share.
PT Ifishdeco Tbk (IFSH), PT Bali Towerindo Sentra Tbk (BALI), and PT Estika Tata Tiara Tbk (BEEF) were the next top gainers, ranking eighth through tenth. IFSH's stock price rose 4.86% to Rp 755 per share, BALI's rose 4.13% to Rp 1,260 per share, and BEEF's share price rose 3% to Rp 206 per share.
For your information, the JCI opened at 9:00 a.m. at 5,914.28. It then plummeted 598.56 points, or 9.19%, to 5,912.06. This occurred at the opening of trading, shortly after US President Donald Trump announced a 32% reciprocal tariff on Indonesian imports.
Transaction volume was recorded at 1.59 billion, with turnover of Rp 1.92 trillion. Transaction frequency was recorded at 64,620 times. Nine stocks rose, 552 fell, and 65 stocks remained unchanged.
In the past week, the JCI has seen a 5.53% decline, followed by a 5.72% decline in the past month. Over the past three months, its value has weakened by 16.82%.
Furthermore, the JCI has weakened by 24.51% over the past six months. Year-to-date (YTD), it has weakened by 16.50%, and over the past year, it has weakened by 18.96%.
